We turned an old school bus into our home five yea We turned an old school bus into our home five years ago to travel full time and I honestly never expected some of my favorite memories would happen inside this 200 sq foot “walls”.

I was telling Bo the other day how all the big adventures get the photos and videos. We post a lot of mountain sunrises, adventures through national parks, and places wed always dreamed of exploring. But it’s these seemingly ordinary nights that have really ended up meaning the most.

When you have kids, sometimes you need to get creative with date night. And when you live and travel full-time, far from family and babysitters, you really have to get creative. And when you live in a tiny bus you really really have to get creative.

So date night looks a little different around here. We have to be really intentional about making sure we make time for a dinner just the two of us, playing games, or enjoying the awesome fort we helped the kids make.

“I just felt like running...” straight into one of “I just felt like running...” straight into one of the most iconic photo ops in the U.S.

📍 Forrest Gump Point, just outside of Monument Valley, is about 20 minutes north of the visitor center on US-163 near mile marker 13.

Make sure to visit at sunrise or sunset for less traffic, soft lighting, and fewer people to witness your dramatic reenactment!

We can’t get these moments out of our heads. The elephant seals stole the show, and the kids kept asking if we could keep pulling over because they swear they saw a whale every 10 minutes. Let’s do another Route 1 roadtrip in California.

Your 7 day Dolomites Itinerary 👇 We spent one wee Your 7 day Dolomites Itinerary 👇

We spent one week roadtripping around the Dolomites and we are convinced you need to too!

Here’s how we spent our time:

Day 1: Lago di Braies + Lagazuoi Peak &
We started our trip at Lago di Braies (yes, it’s as dreamy as it looks) and then took the gondola up Lagazuoi for WWI tunnels and unreal 360° views.

Day 2: Geisler Alm + Val di Funes
Hiked the Adolf Munkel trail to Geisler Alm, which might just have the best mountain views, then stopped at the tiny St. John’s Church in Val di Funes.

Day 3: Rifugio Friedrich August + Telecabina Forcella del Sassolungo
Walked the Friedrich August trail for a krapfen (because hiking snacks matter) and then rode a gondola straight through the peaks. Wild.

Day 4: Cadini di Misurina + Tre Cime di Lavaredo Caught sunrise at Cadini di Misurina with the peaks glowing gold, then hiked the famous Tre Cime loop. This was a true bucket list day!

Day 5: Lago di Carezza + Passo Giau
Saw the rainbow reflections at Lago di Carezza in the morning and ended the day winding through Passo Giau at sunset.

Day 6: Lago di Sorapis
An amazing hike that leads to turquoise waters hidden high in the mountains. It is definitely worth it. Tip: hike early early morning or late afternoon to avoid the crowds.

Day 7: Passo Gardena + Jimmy Hutte
Wrapped things up with one of the prettiest drives in the Dolomites and a big meal at Jimmy Hütte.

What would you add to your Dolomites itinerary?

Reflection canyon has been on our list of bucket l Reflection canyon has been on our list of bucket list hikes for years. It was the kind of hike we kept putting off because the logistics alone made us question if it was worth it. Did I mention we carried all our water for 4 people in/out.

We brought our kids which made it both easier and harder. Harder because of the extra water (55-60 Ibs each felt like a great idea at the trailhead). And so much easier because they brought a level of excitement and wonder to the trail that kept us laughing and carried us all 16 miles.

This is NOT a casual hike. There is no water and no way to get any once you’re there. It’s a 16 mile round trip hike in the unforgiving desert sun. It’s a hike that takes careful planning.

We camped overnight and had the place almost entirely to ourselves in the early morning and evening. I could not imagine doing this as a day hike (although we saw a few motivated and prepared hikers do it).
If you’re thinking about hiking to reflection canyon do your research. Really figure out how much water you need to carry (and give yourself a buffer) and know what the weather will be like.

We waited years for this, and getting to share it with our kids made every bit of the effort (and every pound of water) worth it.
