Welcome Adventurous Friends!

We are the Johnson family, Bo, Nicole, Cooper, Charley, and Baxter and we are so thrilled to have you here with us.

A big heartfelt welcome to you for joining us in our little corner of the internet where we share our adventure living and traveling in our converted school bus.

We spent one full year converting a big yellow school bus into our dream home on wheels and now we spend our days traveling full time around the U.S. It was one of the most challenging endeavors we have ever done, but it has been one of the most rewarding experiences. We loved it so much that we are now in the process of converting a van into a tiny home on wheels.

We started sharing our journey converting a 2003 Thomas Built school bus as a journal for us to look back on. It shifted when we kept enthusiastically getting asked for updates from our friends and family. We began “Roamwithbus” as a way to share our “busdates” (kind of like updates but all about bus life), our experiences, and our photos with friends and family from all over.

We never imagined the interest we would receive from fellow skoolie builders and families across the globe looking for inspiration and advice on how to live and travel full time with kids. We have evolved over the past few months and now we focus on sharing the good, the bad, and the incredibly amazing moments of living and traveling full time in a tiny home on wheels.

We share our adventures roaming around in our skoolie (and soon our van) but we also include tips and tricks, our favorite products for tiny living and family travel, and the best places we have visited and stayed along the way.

We LOVE to travel. We LOVE to hike. And we are obsessed with anything outdoors. We have a list of things “to do” that would reach about a mile long. We love hiking and exploring so much that when our children were born we decided to share that passion with them. And now we want to share those passions with all of you!

The goal of our tiny travel blog isn’t just to share our skoolie build with all of you, but it’s also to help give families the tools they need to get out and explore their dreams together. Maybe you want to convert a bus, learn tips and tricks for living tiny, or you just want to get out and explore with your little ones? Whatever your reason for being here, we hope that you will find the inspiration that you need to build your own home on wheels, travel and explore the outdoors with your kids.
